MaxiTRANS Australia Pty Ltd is proud to announce that it has awarded Krone (Fahrzeugwerk Bernard KRONE GmbH), one of Europe’s largest trailer manufacturers, the exclusive licence to manufacture Freighter’s award winning EziLiner for European transport applications.

Krone, a leading innovator in trailer and van design, will incorporate the EziLiner design into its revolutionary new EcoLiner, to be launched at the 62nd IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, Germany, being held from 25th September to 2nd October 2008.

Attracted by its performance and simplicity of design, Krone recognised the key benefits that the Freighter EziLiner design would bring to European operators, including its ability to provide significant operational efficiency per load/unload cycle and also its OH&S benefits, with drivers no longer risking injury as a result of the repetitive nature of opening and closing buckles and straps.

The agreement between Freighter and Krone is believed to be the first of its type for an Australian trailer manufacturer and demonstrates that Freighter is at the leading edge of innovative trailer design and technology worldwide.

It also highlights MaxiTRANS’ commitment to research and development and providing its customers with the world’s best trailer designs.

The Freighter EziLiner, winner of a 2008 Australian International Design Award,1 is an innovative design that has eliminated buckles and straps on curtain sided trailers.  Vertical curtain tension is achieved through a simple flick of a lever to tighten the high tensile cable that runs through a series of specially designed arcs at the bottom of the curtain.

Patented in Australia and with international patents pending, additional benefits of the Freighter EziLiner include potential reductions in fuel consumption as a result of less drag2 as well as happier drivers who no longer have to worry about the repetitive chore associated with conventional buckles and straps.

MaxiTRANS Managing Director, Michael Brockhoff, believes this new initiative reflects the Company’s dedication to trailer innovation and design excellence, commenting that “This agreement signifies the commitment and passion that our staff have for developing innovative transport solutions that provide genuine operator benefits.  The EziLiner is an excellent example of local innovation that has global applications and certainly Krone has been enthusiastic regarding its possibilities and benefits for the European transport industry.”
