MaxiTRANS, Australia's leading supplier of temperature controlled road transport equipment, has in conjunction with Colrain, chosen Victorian city Geelong to promote the revolutionary new ecoFridge refrigeration system to its South West Victoria customers as well as promote Colrain Geelong’s new service offering.

Liquid Nitrogen powered, silent running and emission free, ecoFridge represents a new era in temperature controlled transport and drew much interest from the large number of local refrigerated fleet and owner driver operators who attended the event at MaxiTRANS’ new sales office at Colrain in Douro Street, North Geelong.

MaxiTRANS is commercialising Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) refrigeration to ensure that local operators in Geelong can meet the joint challenges of rising operating costs and possible greenhouse emissions reduction targets.

ecoFridge represents the absolute cutting edge in transport refrigeration.  In comparison to conventional diesel refrigeration units, ecoFridge has no direct emissions and operates in complete silence.

Because it has virtually no moving parts, it is almost maintenance free, thus reducing maintenance costs and downtime compared to conventional fridge plants.  Customers may ensure absolute emissions free status by specifying that their Liquid Nitrogen supplies are generated by renewable energy.

MaxiTRANS is the exclusive ecoFridge agent for Australia and New Zealand and is currently undertaking field trials prior to making ecoFridge available for sale.

Local operators were also impressed with Colrain’s workshop that contains 8 prime mover and 2 B-Double bays and which caters for both large fleets and owner operators.

Colrain Geelong has recently invested in a set of truck/trailer hoists that will allow technicians to more easily inspect and service vehicles to the highest possible standards.

Brad Dalton, Colrain Geelong’s Workshop Manager explained that due to the hoist’s flexibility, servicing required for items such as clutches and gearboxes can be performed more quickly and safely, which ultimately saves the customer time and money.

Another feature of the vehicle hoist is the "Trailer Lifter" which gives the ability to lift a semi or dog trailer up to six feet in the air.

"This is particularly handy when performing suspension and welding repairs. The extra access makes difficult jobs easy and we have confidence in the work we turn out”, said Brad.

The on-site yard is large enough to turn a B-Double and is easily accessible from two street access points and offers drive in-drive out capability.

Colrain Geelong’s service facility is open from 7:30am to 1:00am from Monday to Thursday and 7:30am to 4:00pm on Friday whilst appointments can be made for Saturday.  They also have two service vans which offer 24 hours / 7 days breakdown service for operators who require it.  The contact number for the breakdown service is 0417 304 510.
