The company has given a 2.5-tonne rated capacity Toyota forklift truck to Mission Australia's Triple Care Farm at Robertson in the New South Wales Southern Highlands.
The fully-reconditioned 7FG25 Toyota forklift was handed over to TCF on December 15, during the farm's 57th graduation ceremony.
TMHA's Sydney branch used equipment manager Glen Ryan delivered the forklift, which had been fully refurbished in the company's Moorebank (Sydney) workshop.
Accepting the Toyota forklift, manager of Triple Care Farm Warren Holt said Toyota's donation to Triple Care Farm (TCF) was all about making a real difference in the lives of young people in need.
"One of TCF's main objectives is, whilst a young person is with us, to lay the foundations for future employment," he said.
"Around 93 per cent of TCF participants are unemployed when they come to us, so it's as important to get them on the road to a future job as it is to tackle the other challenges they might be facing.
"At the farm young people receive accredited training in forklift operation, which gives them an operator's licence and sets them up for a job in a range of industries.
"It also delivers a huge boost to their morale and self esteem to know they have achieved something positive and have a qualification under their belts they can use in the future.
"We're very grateful to Toyota Material Handling Australia for the donation of the forklift. It's been a very valuable contribution in helping turn young people's lives around."
Triple Care Farm is a residential program for young people, aged 16-24, who are experiencing problems with both substance abuse and mental illness.
