Australia’s largest truck dealership, Westar Truck Centre, was officially opened on 23 July, in a special ceremony attended by
Isuzu Australia Limited Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Yuki Murata, and Western Star Australia Managing Director, Paul Glavac.

Westar Truck Centre is part of the Patterson Cheney Group – one of Victoria’s largest automotive retailers. Many of the country’s leading automotive brands fall under the Patterson Cheney umbrella including Toyota, Holden, Honda and Mercedes Benz.

According to Dealer Principal, Terry Jewson, not only is the Westar Truck Centre the largest heavy vehicle sales and service facility in Australia, it offers customers new levels of convenience and service.

“The new Westar Truck Centre Derrimut has been designed to meet the needs of commercial vehicle buyers, with features to ensure customers have an unrivalled purchase and service experience,” Terry Jewson said.

The new dealership is located on a vast tract of land - 38,000 square metres in total and will handle the full model ranges from Isuzu, Western Star and MAN brands – so whether purchasers are shopping for a light, medium or heavy duty truck, they’ll be able to get it all under the one roof.

The sheer size of the facility provides ample space for customer parking including drivers of B-Double and B-Triple articulated trucks who  will find manoeuvring their trucks a breeze with ample room to hitch and unhitch trailers safely and easily.

The facility boasts 42 service bays all fitted with the latest diagnostic and service equipment, from a live in-ground electronic brake tester to electric truck lifting equipment. These features will ensure customers get their trucks serviced and repaired quickly and efficiently.

A huge parts warehouse spanning 1,450 square metres of space enables Westar to stock a massive range of truck parts – from everyday items like filters and brake pads to full engine rebuild kits.

“If we don’t have a specific part in stock we can usually source this within 1-24 hours,” Mr Jewson said. “Our aim is to do everything we can to keep our customers’ trucks on the road and minimise down time.”

A parts and accessories supermarket is designed to enable customers to browse in comfort and quickly source everyday items such as oils, coolants, lights and fuses.

“We understand the transport industry and in particular the needs of drivers. This is why when we designed our new dealership we wanted to provide something innovative and unique to Patterson Cheney and our valued clients – motel-style rooms to allow drivers some comfortable rest and recuperation time whilst their vehicles are being serviced,” Mr Jewson said.

“The rooms feature a comfortable bed and separate ensuite with toilet, showe
