Hino Australia recently announced that an upgraded hybrid truck will be part of its soon-to-launch new 300 Series range. “Upgrades to the new Hino 300 Series Hybrid will include a new hybrid system; new operational software, a new battery and inverter technology; and a new six speed automated transmission,” says Daniel Petrovski, product strategy manager for Hino Australia. Although details are currently scarce, the company plans to talk more about the 300 Series as a whole over the coming weeks leading up its mid-July launch.

A major focus for Hino with the new 300 Series is on safety, which includes such standard driver assistance technologies as pre-collision warning and autonomous emergency braking. The range will include a new 300 Series 721 vehicle with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 6.5 tonnes. Hino will also offer automatic gearboxes for 4x2 models in the Hino 300 Series.
