Western Australian Produce Vendors Rely On Isuzu FVL 240-300 Freightpack To Stock Their Malaga Markets Stall

Wife and husband Lan and Duc Tinh Nguyen recently purchased a new Isuzu FVL 240-300 Freightpack truck to support their Hong Kong Fruit & Veg produce stall located at Western Australia’s Malaga Markets. The 200-square-metre (2,153-square-foot) stall is fully stocked with fruits and vegetables on a seasonal basis that Duc picks up at Canning Vale Markets in the form of 16 or more crates, necessitating a reliable vehicle.

Isuzu FVL Freightpack Details

The Isuzu FVL 240-300 Freightpack has a gross vehicle mass of 24,000 kilograms (52,911 pounds) and is powered by a six-cylinder engine that produces 296 horsepower (221 kilowatts) and up to 981 newton-metres (723 pounds-foot) of torque. The engine is paired with an Allison six-speed automatic transmission. The truck also features LED lighting and a host of safety features, including antilock brakes, cornering lamps, high-visibility mirrors, and yellow steps and grab handles.

A Return To The Brand

The Nguyens are no strangers to the brand and operated an Isuzu from 2007 through 2016 before initially closing their stall. But after much demand from Malaga Markets customers, the couple returned nearly three years later with a vehicle from another marque. After putting nearly $15,000 into it for repairs and suffering through several breakdowns, the Nguyens turned to Frank Johnston at Major Motors Isuzu and decided to buy the new FVL Freightpack.

“My husband and I have always liked Isuzu trucks; we know it’s a good brand and that the trucks are very reliable on the road,” says Lan. “My husband says the truck is smooth to drive and easy to operate. He finds the easy glide curtains with quick release latches very useful. And since he travels at least 45 minutes each way to the market, the auto transmission and cab comfort has made his driving sessions much more enjoyable. In fact, we are so happy with our Isuzu that we tell all our friends and other market operators about Frank at Major Motors.”
