Dean Dal Santo, formerly Scania’s National Sales Manager, Trucks, will now serve as Scania Australia’s Sales Director, Trucks. Dal Santo has worked for the company for 17 years, helping the company continue its success in the on-highway and off-highway truck markets. He played a role in ushering in a relatively new era for Scania of focusing on the mining and resources industries over the last seven years, in addition to “National Fleet, Fire, and Specialised Vehicles.” Dal Santo also ran the pre-sales department for Scania Australia during his tenure with the company.
Dal Santo says he is excited to take on the role of National Sales Manager, thanks largely to the enthusiasm around the company’s “New Truck Generation,” including rigid trucks and prime movers. He praises the safety of Scania vehicles, calling them “the safest trucks you can buy in Australia.” with an emphasis on the company’s rollover curtain airbags. Dal Santo adds that he looks forward to continuing the successful “run down of stocks of the P, G, and R range in anticipation of the ramp-up of the NTG range.”
“It is a good feeling to be able to offer the Australian truck industry such a safe, quiet, comfortable and environmentally friendly range of vehicles that are designed to promote our customers’ Total Operating Economy,” says Dal Santo. “Our aim this year is to equal last year’s record delivery result, even though we have been in run-out through much of the year, while the plan for 2019 is obviously to make a significant impact in the market with the full strength of the all-new truck range at our disposal.”
