Fuso Canter Tipper tops up

Posted On: Wednesday, 28 February 2018

Fuso, a subsidiary of Daimler Truck and Bus Group worldwide, recently updated its popular Canter 515 City Cab factory tipper truck to handle bigger payloads. The trucks, which are manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi Truck and Bus Corporation, can now support a gross vehicle mass of 6 tonnes; that’s an additional 500 kilograms of payload, making it the only narrow cab tipper in its class that can handle so much cargo.

    A nimble little powerhouse

The 515 City Cab is able to handle the increased cargo capacity because an integrated strengthened chassis, not a separate sub-frame as in less-capable tippers, supports its tipper tray and mechanism. This design philosophy also yields a truck with a low centre of gravity and low tare weight.

As it name implies, the 515 City Cab was engineered to easily traverse the narrow streets, tight turns, and crowded alleyways of urban centers. Other standout features include the tipper-specific front beam suspension, powerful twin caliper front disc brakes, and a limited slip differential that provides excellent traction on any surface and in any conditions. When it comes to reliability and cost of ownership, Fuso really stands behind its products with a class-leading five-year, 200,000-kilometer, or 4,000-operating hour (whichever comes first) warranty. Fuso also offers a first free service visit.

    The big tipper

The Fuso 715 Wide Cab Tipper is built with the same integrated strengthened chassis, front beam suspension, twin-caliper front disc brakes, and limited slip differential as the 515 City Cab. The notable difference is that the 715 Wide Cab features a roomier cab. Both of the Canter tipper trucks also ship with a feature-rich touchscreen multi-media system, satnav with free map updates for three years, and a built-in reversing camera.

If you’re in the market for new or used Fuso vehicles and tipper trucks, you’ll find a multitude of options for sale on TruckWorld.com.au.
