    Modern heavy vehicles are engineered to deliver their best performance when operated within their intended limits.

    Automated Manual Transmissions (AMTs), along with fully automatic transmissions, are common across today's truck parc and are designed to select appropriate gears based on engine load and operating conditions. Allowing these systems to work as intended generally results in smoother operation and improved fuel efficiency compared with unnecessarily overriding gear selections.

    When coupled with engines that produce strong torque at lower revs, modern drivetrains reward measured inputs rather than aggressive throttle applications.

    In many situations, smoother really is faster over the course of an entire shift because it reduces fuel use while placing less stress on a truck’s components.

    Route Planning

    Route planning also plays an important role in improving overall efficiency.
