A new take on MaxiTRANS Classic
MaxiTRANS redesigned its Maxi-CUBE Classic reefer van, resulting in more insulation for better thermal efficiency and less tare weight to let you pack more payload. The Maxi-CUBE Classic was first shown at the 2017 Brisbane Truck Show, and MaxiTRANS is ready to sell the new and improved refrigerated van.
Better Thermals
On the updated Classic, MaxiTRANS uses its in-house urethane foam process that creates precisely sized panels, so there’s no need to cut surface cells. MaxiTRANS also inserts a material with low thermal conductivity between the refrigerated van’s internal and external materials to help keep the cold air inside. Fully moulded door seals, as well as fiberglass dress cappings, further increase insulation. According to MaxiTRANS, independent testing with a standard 22-pallet reefer result in a 5% increase in thermal efficiency.
Tare Weight Modifications
When redesigning the Maxi-CUBE Classic, MaxiTRANS added a lightweight, full width skid plate that reduces the overall tare weight and allows drivers to unhook the trailer at sideway angles. “The new skid plate design is the result of extensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA), accelerated fatigue and in-field testing, each of which have rigorously tested the strength and reliability of the design,” says Kevin Manfield, general manager, products and markets at MaxiTRANS. The skid plate also features a modular design that makes it easy to repair or replace, because you won’t have to remove the trailer floor.
Trailer Options
“The new Maxi-CUBE Classic is available now to order in Ambient, Reefer, Freezer, Chiller and Hi-Cube Reefer models,” says Manfield. “The new Classic is available at no additional cost over the previous standard Maxi-CUBE Classic model.” A good selection of used MaxiTRANS trailers are available on TruckWorld.com.au, and you can also find used MaxiTRANS refrigerated van trailers.
