ACM Adds 10 New IVECO ACCO 8x4 Agitators With 10 More On The Way

Posted On: Thursday, 8 February 2018

IVECO announced that ACM, a leading concrete and construction product company, recently acquired 10 new ACCO 8x4 agitators. The arrival of the new concrete trucks coincide with the opening of ACM’s new batching plant in Rockbank, near Victoria, Australia. Digby Crawford, ACM general manager, says “The great thing about the ACCOs is that they are fit for purpose—the trucks and all of the driveline componentry is proven, reliable, and long lasting.” ACM has also ordered 10 more ACCOs for a plant in Clyde that’s currently under construction.

    The ACCO

ACM selected IVECO’s ACCO 8x4 agitators, in part, because the trucks boast a low tare weight and a cab-over design. The ACCO 8x4 agitator’s low cab height, for example, allows ACM to better manoeuver in confined spaces. “Maintenance on the trucks and availability of parts is another benefit, you can find replacement parts everywhere, which minimises the likelihood of any downtime,” says Crawford. He further notes, “Another attractive aspect of the ACCOs was the availability of Electronic Stability Control which is important in this application where the load has a higher centre of gravity.”

Each of the new trucks in ACM’s new ACCO fleet feature a 340 horsepower engine with 1,500 newton-meters of torque. A 6-speed full automatic transmission is onboard and the trucks feature a smooth ride, thanks to a rubber block suspension with an integrated air suspension up front.

    About ACM

Established in 2009, ACM is strongly committed to sustainability. For example, ACM minimises environmental impact by using recycled rock and concrete in its aggregates, and the company often uses collected stormwater in its concrete and crushing plants. Perhaps most importantly, ACM uses “E-Crete,” a concrete replacement that produces up to 80% less carbon output than traditional concrete. ACM chose a bright green color for its new ACCO fleet to further draw attention to the company’s environment goals.

    About IVECO

IVECO’s local manufacturing plant has produced more than 230,000 truck and bus chassis since 1952. In addition to the ACCO agitator models, IVECO makes the ACCO lineup in a compactor variant and vocational truck. This Australian truck also manufacturer Powerstar and Stralis AS-L truck lines. Daily light commercial ranges, the Eurocargo and Stralis ATi models, are also available.
