ARYZTA chooses IVECO Eurocargos to make safe quick deliveries across Victoria
With nearly 60 bakeries in Europe, North America, South America, Asia, New Zealand, and Australia, leading international baking company ARYZTA delivers a many breads, pies, appetisers, and other perishable goods to its customers every day. In Australia, deliveries from ARYZTA’s Melbourne and Sydney facilities to supermarket chains, McDonald’s, and other clients must happen safely but quickly to keep the goods fresh. As such, ARYZTA relies on a fleet of eight IVECO Eurocargo ML160 models for its deliveries across Victoria.
Like a big car
Describing the Eurocargo as a “comfort” truck that’s essentially “like driving a big car,” Peter Roy, ARYTZA Victorian distribution manager, says his company moved away from using a Japanese manufacturer’s trucks several years ago to now using Eurocargo models exclusively. Recently, ARYZTA renewed its fleet with Eurocargos for a second time. “Most of our drivers have been with us for many years and remember the older trucks we used to operate. They’re very grateful to now have the Eurocargos,” he says.
Daily, ARYTZA drivers deliver products from operations in Dandenong South near Melbourne to outlets across Victoria. ARYZTA also transports frozen goods via line-haul to other states using a similar distribution model at its Warwick Farm facility in Sydney. ARYTZA typically uses its trucks about five years, covering 500,000 kilometers (310,685 miles) in that time. In addition to be fuel-friendly and looking “smart on the road,” Roy touts the Eurocargos as being very maneuverable in urban locations.
Carrying the load
ARYTZA purchased its latest Eurcargo fleet from IVECO dealer Melbourne Truck Centre, which also maintains ARYTZA’s vehicles and provided it “attractive leasing rates” via CNH Industrial Capital, IVECO’s in-house financier. (IVECO is a brand of CNH Industrial N.V.) “Melbourne Truck Centre have been great to deal over many years, both in the purchase and servicing of our trucks. Nothing is too much trouble for them,” Roy said.
Fueling on a 280-horsepower IVECO E5 EEV (Environmentally Enhance Vehicle) Tector 6 engine and using an Allison five-speed fully automatic transmission, ARYTZA’s Eurocargos sport pantech bodies with a tailgate lifter to help ease unloading tasks. The vehicle’s rear ECAS (electronically controlled air suspension), meanwhile, improves the alignment of the vehicle’s body while loading to support smoother rides. Further, ARYZTA Eurocargos sport alloy bullbars to protect against animals strikes on regional and country roads.
Iveco Australia is based in Dandenong where it manufacturers and imports light-, medium-, and heavy-duty on- and off-road commercial vehicles, including ACCO, Powerstar, Daily, Trakker, and Stralis models. IVECO has a network of 50 dealerships and service outlets in the country.
