The Australian Trucking Association Along With TruckSafe Becomes Member Of The National Road Safety Partnership Program

Posted On: Thursday, 8 February 2018

When searching for ways to improve and promote safety in the trucking industry, the more people and resources you have, the better your ability to generate workable ideas. With those goals in mind, the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) recently teamed up with the National Road Safety Partnership Program (NRSPP). The ATA was founded in the aftermath of a horrendous truck-bus accident that caused 21 fatalities. The organisation’s goal from that moment forward was to set some operational standards to prevent such accidents from occurring again.

    ATA & TruckSafe

The ATA is also bringing TruckSafe along with it, which is a risk management system designed specifically for making sure truck operators act safely and responsibly while out on the road. TruckSafe is a wholly owned subsidiary of the ATA, and the group hands out accreditation to truck operators via independent auditing, and then approved members are held to the TruckSafe Code of Conduct. The ultimate goal with all of these different organisations and systems working together is to lower the number of accidents associated with heavy-duty trucks. The ATA will also play a role in the NRSPP’s 2018 Re:Act campaign, which is focused on educating younger people about road safety issues.

    About The NRSPP

The National Road Safety Partnership Program is essentially a network of Australian organisations that are working to build a culture of safety for everyone on the road. The program gives members access to extensive resources that will help them shore up any lax safety policies and to generally encourage safer driving practices across the board.
