If you haven’t already registered for the Australian Trucking Association’s (ATA) Trucking Australia 2018 event, then recent announcements from the ATA are sure to get you motivated. The show takes place from the 18th to the 20th of April at the National Convention Centre in Canberra. It will feature His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retired) and the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia opening the show at the Trucking Australia 2018 Welcome Breakfast, Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack will also be on hand as a keynote speaker.

    Must-attend events

Industry experts will be holding workshops throughout the event to help push forward initiatives on mental health and safety communications as well as the new master safety code. There will also be an event called fatigueHACK where mentors, teams, and individuals will all work toward the goal of finding solutions to drive fatigue challenges facing drivers. Daimler Future Leaders will have an event at show to talk about important issues in the industry, and students from Swinburne University will help the Volvo ATA Safety Truck grab the attention of younger drivers.

There are numerous lunches, dinners, and other social events taking place over the course of the three-day conference as well. Some examples include the Canberra Showcase Dinner, the Kenworth Legends Lunch, and the ATA Auction Dinner. There’s also the 2018 National Trucking Industry Awards being held at the ATA Foundation Sponsors Gala, which is sponsored by Volvo, NTI, and BP. Some of these events are only available to those who buy specific ticket packages, so be sure to check out the full schedule on the Trucking Australia website so you don’t miss out.
