Australian Trucking Association highlights National Truck Industry Award Winners

Posted On: Monday, 30 April 2018

At the Trucking Australia 2018 Foundation Sponsors Gala Awards Dinner in Canberra last week, the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) handed out several honours to individuals and businesses. Trucking Australia is an annual convention where leaders and members of the Australian trucking community get together to discuss the future of the industry, including ways to combat driver fatigue. The dinner is an opportunity to recognise major contributors to the cause and those that exemplify what makes the trucking industry great.

“The winners of these awards have demonstrated exceptional dedication to the Australian trucking industry through their hard work and commitment,” said ATA Chair Geoff Crouch. “It is important to recognise those in our industry who go the extra mile and inspire others. Each winner will receive prizes from the respective award sponsors, and I look forward to hosting them again at Trucking Australia 2019.”

    Highlights

One of the awards given out at the event was the TruckSafe John Kelly Memorial Award, which went to JJ Lawson Transport and is designed to put the spotlight on an accredited TruckSafe operator that represents the organization to the highest degree. Another was the Don Watson Memorial Award, which went to Frances Ross of R & A Ross Transport for her contributions to the industry.
