Hit the brakes on fatigue
Transport & Logistics Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2018/19
20-30 per cent of deaths on the road are caused by fatigue, with this often increasing to 40-50 per cent in particular crash types involving heavy vehicles. Safety in the Transport and Logistics industry is crucial for not only the drivers but also the rest of the public; one unsafe move by a driver could result in injuries or fatalities to both parties on the road. To aid in reducing these percentages, Pro-Visual Publishing, in partnership with the Australian Trucking Association and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator has released the latest edition of the Augmented Reality (AR) Transport & Logistics Industry Guide to Workplace Safety, which provides vital safety information to the transport industry.
This year’s edition of the Guide explores a variety of different topics on workplace safety including, fatigue and risk management and safety management systems, safety when loading and unloading trucks, and load restraint, which is an important issue as complications are considerably dangerous and can cause injury and damage property.
Additionally, the Guide also features the new safety duty for the Heavy Vehicle National Law 2018, providing information about the amendments being made that perhaps workers within the industry are not yet aware of.
As mentioned, the Guide is digitally interactive with an AR component, by using the free Pro-Vis AR app, workers can scan over any AR capable content to instantly access further safety information, contributing to greater engagement and retention.
