New Ford transit custom gets upgrades inside and out

Ford recently announced the availability of its 2018.5 model year Ford Transit Custom. The one-tonne van sports various external and interior updates to go along with technology upgrades for a better overall driving experience. The Transit Custom now comes standard with Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system, a reverse camera, front and rear parking sensors, and more. One major highlight is the new 2.0-litre Ford EcoBlue turbodiesel engine that’s available with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. There is also an all-new High Roof model that offers extra interior space.

    Redesigned interior and exterior

Ford put a lot of effort into making the Ford Transit Custom’s interior feel more like a car. It is designed to put everything at the driver’s fingertips, including the 8-inch colour touch-screen display, newly designed seats with foam padding, one-touch power windows, remote central locking, and more.

You’ll also notice a wealth of redesigned exterior elements on the new Ford Transit Custom, including the van’s trapezoidal grille and slimmer headlamps, as well as the aforementioned High Roof option. Ford added a wealth customization options to make the van uniquely yours, ranging from 16-inch alloy wheels to the more than 100 exterior colour options.

    Many safety features

The 2018.5 Ford Transit Custom comes with quite a few standard Safety and Driver Assist technologies; the van has six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control, Side-wind Stabilization, Load Adaptive Control, Rollover Mitigation, Trailer Sway Control, and Hill Launch Assist. The new, optional Technology Pack brings even more to the table, including Pre-Collision Assist with autonomous emergency braking (AEB) and Pedestrian Detection, a Blind Spot Information System, Adaptive Cruise Control, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and much more.

The new 2018.5MY Ford Transit Custom ranges in Manufacturer list price from $40,990 up to $47,290 or more, depending on your configuration and chosen extras, like the Technology Pack for $1,600.
