Renault brings back the formula edition of its Trafic van for 2018

Hot on the heels of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in March, Renault announced it has once again released a Formula Edition of its Trafic van. The racing-themed van is available in Storm Grey or Jet Black, with the option of a short or long wheelbase, and comes equipped with a twin-turbo 1.6-liter high-torque diesel engine.

    Making more this year

Renault is sending 125 Formula Edition Trafics out to dealers throughout Australia beginning in May so customers can get a look, and says it will produce the vans in greater numbers this year because the 2017 special edition of the Trafic sold out quickly.

“The Renault Trafic Formula Edition was extremely well received in 2017, and so we immediately contacted the factory to obtain a second batch for 2018,” said Lyndon Healey, LCV product manager for Renault. “Trafic has been a stellar success for Renault since its launch in 2015, with many drivers enthused by its zesty driving experience. It is well equipped, comfortable and light on fuel, ticking all the boxes for hard-working tradies, couriers, and small-business owners across a very broad range of enterprises. Renault Trafic has been growing its sales and market share over the past three years and the arrival of the Formula Edition will add even more sparkle to a well-polished diamond.”

    Something special

The 2018 Renault Trafic Formula Edition sports new LED Daytime Running Lights set into the front bumper. Returning features include the exterior body package with a front bumper, door rail, and rear light surrounds all painted to match the body colour. It also sports 17-inch black Cyclade alloy wheels with yellow centre caps, yellow grille inserts and fog lamp surrounds, a special Renault diamond logo in black on the bonnet, and Formula Edition stripes on the sides.

The interior features cloth upholstery seats with a dark Java color scheme, a seven-inch touchscreen media and navigation system, a premium dashboard, a chrome instrument panel surround, black air vent surrounds, a leather gear select with chrome trim, and chrome speaker surrounds. It also features Formula Edition floor mats, a wide-view mirror, and LED lights on the ceiling, as well as a deadlocking security system.

The Manufacturer’s List Price for the short wheelbase model of the Renault Trafic Formula Edition starts at $41,990 and the price for the long wheelbase model starts at $43,490.
