Fuso Canter RECALL Information
Fuso has initiated a recall for certain Canter models to adjust a wire that could affect the airbag deployment in severe frontal impact collisions within specific parameters.
During extensive crash testing for its electric eCanter model in Japan, Fuso engineers discovered that a very specific crash impact could potentially sever a wire connected to the truck’s ECU and therefore potentially prevent the airbags from deploying.
The recall does not relate to the truck’s airbag units, which are supplied by Daicel Safety Systems.
The simple fix requires technicians to move the wire slightly and secure it, a process estimated to take no more than 20 minutes.
Most Fuso Canter models sold between March 1, 2011 and November 30, 2017 will be affected by the recall and Fuso will be in contact with owners.
