Truckline Poised for Growth with Appointment of National Sales Manager

Posted On: Friday, 3 August 2018

Truckline, the well-known truck and trailer parts retailer, has appointed Geoff Buswell to the newly created role of National Sales Manager. No stranger to the world of transport, Geoff brings with him more than 20 years heavy industry experience and a proven track record in delivering strategic growth initiatives. He joins Truckline from fellow CNH Industrial brand, IVECO, where he was Dealer Channel Director, responsible for IVECO Dealers Australia-wide.  Geoff has significant experience in generating programs to drive retail sales and customer engagement, providing the ideal springboard for him to spearhead the Truckline National Sales Manager role. Truckline’s General Manager, Mick Henderson says the creation of the National Sales Manager role is the next step following a two year period of growth.

“We’ve seen the establishment of our Western Australia product distribution centre at Welshpool and the development of new stores at Bunbury and Eagle Farm. Additionally, we’ve doubled the number of website users since our ecommerce launch last year and improved the efficiency of our internal processes,” said Mick, “Geoff’s appointment will allow us to consolidate on and build upon these efforts to ensure continued benefits to our customers.” Working closely with Mick, Geoff will be responsible for growing the sales of Truckline nationally through the company’s 23 stores and online retail channels. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help drive the next phase of growth of Truckline,” said Geoff, “During my time at IVECO I gained valuable industry insights and market experience that will prove useful in my new role. I am excited to bring a fresh outlook to the position and to build on the success of Mick and the team.”

Truckline has a proven reputation for quality parts and service that has made it Australia’s leading distributor of aftermarket truck and trailer parts spanning 65 years. With 23 stores nationwide and more than 77,000 parts available, the company prides itself on having more than 80 per cent of its inventory in its branches, helping trucking businesses get their vehicles back on the road fast. The company has enjoyed steady growth in Australia. “Under Mick’s leadership, Truckline has adopted a number of important sales and marketing initiatives that have played an integral role in taking the business forward. My goal is to work with Mick to build on this, particularly in the areas of service and engagement in order to grow customer base. The key to achieving this will be through continued investment in our people and our infrastructure,” Geoff stated.

Team training will be one of the key areas that Geoff will focus on in the coming months. “We have one of the best sales teams in the business, most have been providing first class customer support with Truckline or in other areas of the transport industry for many years. We want to build this further and expand on our existing knowledge through increased training with our suppliers”, said Geoff. “Truckline’s customers trust the brand because of our people and because we offer the most reliable products available on the market. Our relationship with the aftermarket brands we sell are outstanding. This allows us to maintain a strong knowledge base and obtainin great pricing through volume purchasing, which in turn benefits our customers.” Geoff is also looking at expanding Truckline’s fleet business and rolling out a higher level of support through the company’s e-commerce facilities.

“The customer experience is the pinnacle of everything we do at Truckline and this will flow through to our fleet business and e-commerce sites. For our fleet business we will be introducing pre-pack service packs, and we are developing new digital solutions to facilitate ordering across a range of platforms. Such solutions will complement our website and be available to all customers, which will be of particular benefit to those in remote areas, allowing them to access parts quickly and easily,” Geoff stated.“The thing about our industry is that it’s very fast-moving and it doesn’t stop. I am a strong believer in work life balance, but I also understand that we need to keep the wheels turning 24/7. The key to success will be in our ability to provide great customer satisfaction – whether that be in-store, online or on the road – and I believe we have the right people, product and processes to enable us to achieve that,” Geoff concluded. Geoff is based in Queensland and works out of Truckline’s Head Office in Heathwood.
