ATA & Daimler Announce 2019 Daimler Truck and Bus Future Leaders’ Forum
The Australian Trucking Association and Daimler Truck and Bus Australia Pacific recently announced they’re bringing back the Daimler Truck and Bus Future Leaders’ Forum. The event will provide an opportunity for people in the 18- to 40-year-old range to take part in development programmes and learn crucial leadership skills. The event will take place from 12-13 November in Canberra, and there will be a follow-up event during Trucking Australia 2019 from 3-5 April in Perth where participants will present their take-home leadership projects.
“The inaugural Daimler Truck and Bus Future Leaders’ Forum was incredibly successful and surpassed all expectations of what a programme like this could deliver,” says Geoff Crouch, ATA Chair. “The trucking industry is constantly changing, and we face many issues that we have not experienced before. Now is the time to engage a new generation of professionals who can lead the way to ensure the future of the industry remain viable and sustainable.”
Eligibility Requirements
In order to qualify for the programme, entrants must fall into the 18- to 40-year-old age category, write a 300-word description of a leadership project they wish to present at Trucking Australia 2019, and be available for both the Canberra and Perth events. They must also be either an owner or employee of a trucking business that is an ATA or TruckSafe member, or be an individual member of an ATA association.
“We were excited to see the talent and vision on display during the 2018 Daimler Truck and Bus Future Leaders’ Forum, which will help build a stronger, safer and more productive industry,” says Daniel Whitehead, president and CEO of Daimler Truck and Bus Australia Pacific. “It is clear that this type of initiative, which nurtures the next generation of Australia’s transport industry leaders, can help make the transport industry to be a destination industry for the country’s finest.”
