The newest additions to Mercedes-Benz’s Vito range of commercial vans are the work-focused eVito all-electric Panel Van and the eVito Tourer electric passenger transport. The all-electric vans provide a sustainable alternative to fossil fuel-powered vans that’s also cost-effective thanks to reduced recurrent running costs. The eVito Panel Van features a payload of 882 kilograms (1,944 pounds) and 6 cubic metres (212 cubic feet) of cargo load volume. The eVito Tourer offers the same basic vehicle architecture as the Panel Van, loading up eight passengers in a 2:3:3 configuration instead of cargo.

More On The eVito Panel Van

Mercedes-Benz equips the eVito Panel Van with an 85-kilowatt electric motor, which delivers 360 newton-metres (265 pounds-foot) of torque. Driving range is estimated to be 262 kilometres (163 miles); Mercedes-Benz says this makes the eVito Panel Van an ideal candidate for urban delivery loops. Operators can recharge the eVito Panel Van in 6.5 hours with 11-kilowatt AC charging power, or they can use an 80-kW DC fast-charger to take the battery from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes. That van’s dual rear-sliding doors provide easy access to cargo. Features like Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, and Hill-Start Assist, among many driver assistance tools, are onboard to increase safety and simplify operation.

    More On The eVito Tourer

The eVito Tourer is said to be the first all-electric people mover for the Australian commercial market. Passenger comfort is a priority for this eight-person van, and Mercedes-Benz Thermotronic climate control allows operators to pre-heat or -cool the eVito Tourer while it charges if need be. Not only does this ensure passengers enjoy the right temperature as soon as they enter, but can also reduce energy draw from the battery during passenger transport. Mercedes-Benz equips the eVito Tourer with a 150-kW electric motor and a range of 421 km (262 mi). Using AC charging, the passenger van can recharge in 10 hours, while DC fast-charging takes 45 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80%.
