New Iveco Daily E6 Trucks Add New Safety Feature, Improve Driver Comfort
Iveco recently announced that its newest Daily cab chassis and vans, the Daily E6 series, can be equipped with Proactive Lane Keep Assist. This safety technology uses a windscreen-mounted camera to recognise road markings, and if the Daily strays from its lane without the driver signaling, Proactive Lane Keep Assist will intervene and correct the vehicle’s trajectory. Iveco also modified seating in the new Daily cab, adding memory foam and introducing a taller head rest. The Daily E6 van further accommodates taller drivers with a slightly deeper bulkhead.
A More Modern Van
The new Daily range includes a high-resolution instrument cluster offering drivers more than 100 points of information across seven menus. A high-resolution reversing camera is included on all Daily E6 vans, and the backup display includes feedback with lines indicating the distance to items in the Daily’s path, along with acoustic alerts. Iveco also makes the new reversing camera an option on cab chassis variants, a first for the light truck segment. Both cab chassis and van models include the Daily E6’s adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and other safety and stability technology enhancements.
Weights & Payloads
Iveco Daily E6 vehicles are available with gross combination weights of between 3.5 and 7.2 tonnes (3.9 and 7.9 U.S. tons) in several configurations, including panel van, two-row crew van, chassis cab, crew cab, rear-wheel-drive chassis cowl, and 4x4. The Daily’s base ladder frame chassis supports payloads of up to 4.9 t (5.4 U.S. t), and operators looking to maximise the cargo area can select the panel van configuration, which offers a cargo volume of between 7.3 and 19.6 cubic metres (258 and 692 cubic feet).
