Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) used the 2023 Japan Mobility Show as a platform to announce its new F Series truck models for Australia. The first models of the 4-cylinder medium-duty truck range will be available in the second half of 2024 with the rest of the range progressively rolling out.

“It’s a pleasure to announce this next stage in our product journey for Isuzu Trucks in Australia, and to do so at such an auspicious occasion—the 2023 Japan Mobility Show,” says IAL Chief Operating Officer and Director Andrew Harbison. “This event, reimagined after a 4-year hiatus, has brought together the very latest ideas and technology and more importantly, the critical innovative outcomes from this in the products and services being showcased.”

    Isuzu F Series Specs

The new series will have gross vehicle masses (GVMs) ranging from 9,000 to 12,000 kilograms and will be powered by the low-displacement, high-torque 4-cylinder turbocharged and intercooled N-4HK1 engine with a new selective catalytic reduction system to reduce exhaust emissions. Transmission options include the 6-speed torque converter automated manual and the 6-speed manual.

There are several models to meet different needs for horsepower and torque:

    • Isuzu FFR/D and FSR/D: 237 HP (177 kilowatts) and 765 newton-metres (564 pounds-foot) of torque
    • Isuzu FSS: 206 HP (154 kW) and 726 N-m (535 lbf-ft) of torque

Isuzu F Series Cab & Safety Features

The F Series has a new cab design with enhanced ergonomics and the latest safety features. The cab has an all-new interior, a new full-colour display, dash, and lighting. New seating with improved ergonomics and a new steering wheel with controls for the AV unit, cruise, and multifunction display reduce operator fatigue.

Operators stay safe on the road with adaptive driving beam (ADB), full-speed adaptive cruise control (ACC), and traffic sign recognition (TSR). The FFR/D and FSR/D also have an auto lighting system (ALS), auto rain-sensing wipers (AWS), and a full air braking system with EBS.

FSS 4x4 trucks will be the first Japanese vehicles of their category to have advanced emergency braking (AEB) and electronic stability control (ESC).
