There are few industries as demanding and gruelling as mining and civil infrastructure projects. Often working in physically challenging locales, durable equipment is vital. That’s why ESM Resources is particular when selecting trucks and equipment. The Western Australia mobile plant hire and maintenance specialist works primarily with mining companies, contractors, and civil operators throughout the state.

The company purchased its first Iveco T-Way in 2024 for water carts and recently turned to the reliable model again for service truck applications, adding a T-Way 6x6 AD380. "We were attracted to Iveco's reputation for durability and its suitability for heavy-duty off-road work,” says Operations Manager Shannon Pearce. “The T-Way 6x6 platform offered the right balance of power and mine site capability.”

    Ready To Tackle Tough Environments

The T-Way 6x6 AD380, with its high-strength steel frame, is designed for challenging applications. It has triple differential locks for traction on slick surfaces, a low-range transfer case, and front and rear parabolic suspension for rough terrain. The T-Way is powered by a 450-horsepower (330-kilowatt) Euro 6 Step E engine that produces 2,200 newton-metres (1,622 pounds-foot) of torque, and a Hi-Tronix 16-speed automated manual transmission. The Hi-Tronix automated gearbox features a rocking mode, an off-road mode, a creep mode, and four reverse speeds for off-road operations.

"The off-road capabilities to access the remote locations and into mining surrounds were essential,” says Pearce. "The T-Way looked like a good option that could meet the demands of remote WA operations while remaining reliable and cost-effective over the long term."

    Service-Oriented

ESM Resources’ latest T-Way, fitted with an AES 7000 service body, has all the tools and equipment it needs for remote servicing, including on-board pumps, compressors, and tanks for water, diesel, oils, grease, coolants, and more.

The T-Way has been put to work on a long-term hire contract in the Pilbara and has received high praise from the operators. "Feedback has been extremely positive,” Pearce says. “Operators appreciate the power, stability and comfort of the T-Way platform, while our clients value the reliability and reduced downtime the unit is helping deliver."
