    About Tray Trucks

2025 Isuzu NNR 45-150 AMT Crew Traypack

Tray trucks, also known as “flatbed trucks,” lack a roof and sides or have very low sides around the level truck bed and are used to haul large, heavy, or irregular-sized loads that can withstand exposure to the elements. Loads are kept in place by manually tying them down with ropes or ratchet straps. Some weather protection can be provided as needed by covering the load with a tarpaulin.

    Tray Truck Durability

Tray truck bodies are often constructed of steel, aluminium, or alloy and come in a variety of dimensions. While most don’t have full sidewalls, some trays feature metal frames, dropsides, or removable stakes that offer extra security and stability for the load and offer more loading and unloading options. Floors are typically either built from wood or steel.

    Popular Tray Truck Models

Hino offers a variety of tray trucks, including models with a 3,200- by 1,995- by 305-millimetre aluminium tray with dropsides and others with 6,400- by 2,500-mm steel trays with timber floors and a 2,500-mm-high steel cage. Hino’s 300 series offers alloy trays with a 4-tonne floor rating. Hino’s lightweight, durable trays are constructed with high-grade aluminium extrusion, with full-size headboards, easily foldable and removable dropsides, large rope rails, tray fittings made of zinc-plated steel, and aluminium chequer plate mudguards.
